Are any additional costs added to the price I am quoted?
No, there are no hidden charges if the vehicle stays within mainland Britain. The price you are quoted includes VAT, insurance, unlimited mileage and 24-hour breakdown cover. If you are taking the vehicle abroad we will organise breakdown cover for you and this is the only additional cost. When you speak to us just let us know you are travelling abroad and we will be able to give you the correct price.
Do I have to pay an insurance excess?
All of our cars have an excess of only £350 and vans are £500, which is a lot less than 1car1.com (£500 for cars and £1000 for people carriers, minibuses and executive vehicles). This excess is not taken in the form of a deposit, we will simply take a credit card imprint on our machine and ask that you give authorisation that, in the unlikely event of an accident, we may charge your card for the appropriate amount. The customer is responsible for the vehicle during the rental period and the excess still applies in regards to theft, vandalism and accidental damage.
What are your opening hours?
We are open from 0730 – 1730 weekdays and 0800 – 1200 Saturdays.
What do I need when I pick up the vehicle?
We need:
2 X proof of address (Recent utility bills)
Full driver licence (plastic AND paper part if a photo licence)
A credit card for preauthorisation of the insurance excess (£350 cars, £500 vans)
A form of payment.
I am 21 years old, can I hire a vehicle?
Yes we hire to anyone over 21 who has been driving for at least a year. If you would like to hire a 7.5t cargo truck you need to have passed your test before the 1st January 1997.
Do you offer a pick up and drop off service?
We do offer this service but it is subject to the availability of staff and your location in certain circumstances.
Do you provide breakdown cover?
We provide full 24-hour breakdown cover at no extra cost. Full instructions are provided with your hire vehicle, telling you what you need to do in the event of a problem occurring with your car or van.
What is your fuel policy?
All vehicles are provided on an empty to empty basis. We provide the vehicle with a minimal amount of fuel, allowing you to gauge for yourself how much you need to use. This means that there are no fuel deposits or additional costs to pay on returning the vehicle.
Are there any mileage restrictions?
No, our vehicles are provided with unlimited mileage.
Can I smoke in the vehicle?
No, smoking is illegal in all of our vehicles in accordance with the law
Do you guarantee a particular model of vehicle?
The vehicles shown on our website are the most common vehicles in our fleet. We cannot guarantee a particular model of vehicle, only the group of vehicle. In the event that we do not have a vehicle available in the group booked we will call you to discuss it with you and upgrade you to the next highest group of vehicle.
Do you have any cleaning charges?
We do not normally impose cleaning charges on hired vehicles but if a vehicle is returned in an excessively poor condition we may impose a charge.
How often are your vehicles serviced?
Our vehicles are serviced at the intervals recommended by the manufacturer and basic inspections are carried out on a regular basis at our premises (Oil, water, tyre pressure).
How old are your vehicles?
Our vans are less than 2 years old and our cars are less than 6 months old in almost all cases.
Is there an additional charge for taking the vehicles abroad?
The only additional charge is the insurance cover for the vehicle while overseas. We do not add any extra charge to this insurance.
What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards.
